Cleveland International Film Festival 2025 – UNEARTH

Community Partner

UNEARTH

NEO Sierra Club will be a Community Partner with the Cleveland International Film Festival for the screening of the film UNEARTH on Saturday March 29 at 9:30AM and Sunday, March 30 at 5:10PM.

UNEARTH highlights the efforts of Native Americans and fishermen in Bristol Bay, Alaska to prevent contamination of the bay from gold and copper mining. Two families speak truth to power as they attempt to defeat the gold and copper-farming Pebble Mine project, which would upend not only their careers as sockeye salmon fishers, but also destroy their native land as they know it.

The film probes the backroom political deals and financial pressures that often undermine our efforts to protect the environment. These issues are particularly relevant to Ohioans as we struggle to protect our state parks and public areas from the destructive process of fracking to extract methane from our shale bedrock. Executive produced by Erin Brockovich.

UNEARTH will be shown on Saturday, March 29 at 9:30 AM and again on Sunday, March 30 at 5:10 PM in the Allen Theater at Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland.  This film will not be streamed online, so you must see it at Playhouse Square. Opportunities for a Q&A with members will be announced on the CIFF website.

Tickets may be purchased online, at the CIFF box office in the lobby of the State Theater, or by calling the box office at 877-304-3456.
