Support Michael Skindell for Ohio House of Representatives – Fall 2018

NEO Sierra Club is happy to support one of our best environmental champions at the Ohio State House. Michael Skindell is currently an Ohio senator and is running for election to the Ohio House of Representatives as a Democrat in district 13 this fall. He is opposed by Republican Jay Carson. The 13th District includes Lakewood and the west side of Cleveland.

Michael Skindell was named the 2004 Environmental Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Environmental Council and he has continued to be champion for Lake Erie.

While serving in the Ohio House, Skindell encouraged adoption of a renewable energy portfolio standard in Ohio. The General Assembly passed Senate Bill 221, creating a standards program, in 2008 upon which Governor Ted Strickland signed the legislation. Skindell has served on the important Finance and Appropriations committees in both the Ohio House and Senate. He was successful in advocating for more than $400,000 in funding for Lakewood’s Beck Center and funding for renovations at Lakewood Park. He has been a strong advocate for the state funding to help rebuild the public schools in Lakewood.
