Sierra Club Partners with the Cleveland International Film Festival

The 44th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) will be underway March 25-April 5 at Tower City Cinemas and NEO Sierra Club is again a proud community partner with the festival.  We are a partner for the documentary entitled, The Story of Plastic, which examines the environmental impact imposed by the manufacture and use of plastics.  This is a very timely film given the on-going controversy concerning plastic bags and packaging in Cuyahoga County and the U.S. in general.

A program guide for the film festival is posted at www.clevelandfilm.orgA hardcopy version of the guide will also be available at coffee shops, libraries, etc. around Cleveland. The Story of  Plastic will be screened on Wednesday April 4, 6:15 PM and Thursday April 2, 2:15 PM at Tower City Cinemas.  Other environmental films are included in the festival; to find titles and screening times check the “Global Health Competition” category in the program guide.

Tickets go on sale March 6 for CIFF members and on March 13 for the general public. They can be purchased online through clevelandfilm.org or by calling the box office at 877.304.3456.  You may also buy tickets in person at the Film Festival box office in Tower City Cinemas.  To receive a $1 discount on the price of a ticket ($14 for CIFF members and $16 for general public) use the codeword “SIERRA” when you buy tickets.  Buying tickets in advance is always a good idea as many of the shows will sell out.

NEO Sierra Club representatives will speak before each screening of The Story of Plastic; let’s make sure that they are speaking to packed theaters!
