Sept. 12 NOACA Annual Meeting: Housing + Transportation: A True Measure of Affordability

Transportation and air and water quality affect livability in northeast Ohio. This year’s theme, “The True Cost of Transportation,” will give attendees greater insight into transportation and infrastructure funding issues. The Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Convention Center. Some of the featured speakers are highlighted below.

Keynote Address: “Housing + Transportation: A True Measure of Affordability”

Speaker: Scott Bernstein, president and cofounder, Center for Neighborhood Technology (a nonprofit organization that is committed to sustainable development and livable urban communities)

Among other points, Scott will talk about “location efficiency”—how the cost of transportation combined with the cost of housing gives a more complete measure of affordability and should be taken into account when choosing places to live and work.

  • Rep. Bob Gibbs, U.S. Representative of Congressional District 7 of Ohio, serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and is the chair of the Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment
