Sustainable Berea invites you to:
Northeast Ohio Forests Through Time
Presentation by Dr. Kathryn Flinn
Professor of Biology, Baldwin-Wallace University
11 AM September 14, 2024
Berea Public Library
What did the landscape of northeast Ohio look like when Moses Cleaveland arrived in 1796, and how exactly has it changed since then? Using multiple sources of evidence including original land surveys and aerial photographs, this talk will show how human land use has affected the amounts, shapes, sizes, types, composition, and diversity of forests in the landscape today. A historical perspective may change what you see on a walk in the woods! Questions are welcome.
Free and open to the public.
